There's nothing worse than taking that great photo only to be disappointed with the printed enlargement.
Color is an art. Getting good color and quality photo enlargements is a combination of having a "good eye", the right equipment, quality media and experience.
We can reproduce your images on:
- Matte, Satin or Gloss Paper
File Guidelines for Photo Enlargements
We prefer all digital files to be in RGB format with the following exceptions: If the digital file is CMYK, leave it. If it is a black and white or grayscale image, leave it.
Images should be saved with the icc color profiles they were created with.
For best picture quality, save bitmaps in their native format, .EPS or TIFF format. JPEG is a lossy compression routine that results in a degrading of image quality and should be avoided. Use TIFF with LZW compression instead.
All bitmaps (photos, scans, etc.) should be at a minimum resolution of 100-120 dpi at the final output size. 150 dpi is preferred with 200 dpi being the maximum.
Do not "increase" the resolution in Photoshop by changing the dpi. This is called interpolation and will not improve image quality. If the image was scanned or created at 72 dpi, changing the dpi to 300 does not make it a higher res image.
Enlargements from Photos
If you do not have digital files and only have photographs, we can handle these too. We can scan them in or give you the information you need to scan them in. A high quality scanner will make all the difference.
All work is done in-house, from print to finishing so only our staff will be handling your images.
